Title Sequences
Introduction
Title sequences are an important feature within the production of a film as they can be used to do many things such as: identify the genre of the film; reveal the production company of the film; narrate the beginning of a storyline and reveal character information. Title sequences can be specifically designed to give the product a certain feel about it, this can also be done to help identify the specific genre of the product.
Within the horror genre you would find conventional features within title sequences such as:
- Creepy looking typography
- Shadows
- Text revealed from within smoke
- Dark lighting
- The colours red and black
- Sound motifs
These are all conventional features of title sequences used within the horror genre and they help to clearly identify the genre.
