Individual research into title sequences
Title sequences are essential as they can introduce a film or shows: story line, genre and main characters. They are around a minute long and they usually include sound, for example in television shows they usually have a theme tune. They are the first thing that the audience see's so they need to well thought out and keep the audience interested so they will keep watching.
Conventional features of a horror title sequence:
-Dull/Dark colours.
- The colour red.
- Dark lighting.
- Creepy music (High pitched) / music that builds tension.

We are thinking of using a dark background for our title sequence and it is going to include random clips of things associated with horror but they will also link with our storyline. The transitions between the clips won't be smooth and will be jumpy which means it is non continuity editing and this will make our title sequence look conventional to the horror genre. The sound effects we are thinking of using while our title sequence is running is high pitched childish giggles. We think this will make our title sequence seem scary and uncomfortable and the sound effect relates to our film as it features children.
