The aim of a horror film is to create a sense of fear, panic, alarm, and dread for the audience. They are usually extremely unsettling and rely on scaring the audience by displaying their deepest fears and nightmares.
Many horror films portray old mythical creatures such as ghosts, vampires, werewolf, zombies, wizards and witches. In tradition to horror films they most likely contain a huge amount of violence, gore, darkness and blood into the main plot. They can also overlap into thrillers, fantasy and science fiction genres.
