Certificate Of Film Research

Certificate Of Film Research

Introduction
Before the production of our film was able to take place we had decide on a suitable age rating for the idea which we had. Through research into what defines the different age ratings we found that the most suitable age rating for our project was a 15 as its content fell under all the appropriate categories of a 15 rated film. For example our film idea contains the following:
  • Strong violence to some extent
  • Mild use of strong language
  • Scenes containing blood
  • Harmful props such as a knife
  • Scenes not suitable for viewers under the age of 15
Although our project contains these features, there are aspects of the 15 age certificate that our film does not contain, such as:
  • Portrayal of sexual activity
  • Strong verbal references to sex
  • Sexual nudity
  • Brief scenes of sexual violence or verbal references to sexual violence
  • Drug taking
Also, due to our age rating some uncomfortable scenes, such as the violent ones, will not dwell on the injury or pain and easy accessible weapons will not be glamourised.
