Two film distributors we could use are Tempe Entertainment and Darclight. These two distributors specialize in the horror genre which is the category that our film falls into. This means both companies would be suitable to distribute our film and they will do this successfully as they have had experience distributing horror films.
Tempe entertainment
Tempe entertainment first started as a mail-order distributor in 1991. They specialise at the moment in low-budge horror however they are trying to branch out. This is one reason why I think it would be suitable to use this independent distributor as our film fits into their specialised category so they will be likely to agree to distribute our film. They've released films such as 'Blood Letting', 'Teenage Goes to Camp' and 'The Bonesetter'. This proves that they have had experience with the horror genre before which suggests that they would be able to distribute our film successfully.
Darclight
Darclight is a division of Arclight and they're devoted to showcasing the best in the horror, thriller and action genres from around the world. Formed in 2004, the Darclight banner encompasses a wide variety of genres including horror, thriller and action feature films, with recent successes being the horror films 'Wolf Creek', 'Perfect Creature' and 'Snoop Dogg's Hood of Horror'. This is the first reason why I think that Darclight would be a suitable distributor as they have a lot of experience with distributing horror films. However they usually deal with bigger budget films that have run or will run the festival circuit. This means that they may not be interested in distributing our film due producing it on a low-budget.
