Character Traits (Personality): Greg is a opinionated but loving man who has experienced many tragedies in his past which explains his trust issues, by feeling calm and relaxed around his girlfriend Joanne, this shows Greg's sensitive side. However throughout the film it reveals Greg may be mentally unstable due to the hallucination and nightmares he has, which reflect as he in the end turns out to be the murderer.
Function in Narrative: In the narrative Greg is the main character in which the audience see from his perspective which makes him seem like he isn't a murderer, as there are other storylines which makes you suspect other people in different towns, this shows his smart twisted side. His main function is to confuse the audience with his nice personality which adds more shock when the final scene reveals it's him. The character of Greg is influenced by the main character in My Bloody Valentine, as it has a similar effect on that character.
