180 degree line of action
The 180 degree line of action is when the camera stays on one side of the the line. if you don't follow the 180 degree rule then it disrupt the scene disorients the audience as the people switch sides on the screen and the setting changes. you can break the 180 degree line when someone is walking in two situations. one of the situations you can cross the line is when entering the room and the other is walking upstairs.
Shot reverse shot
Shot reverse shot is used when a situation is show from two angles, this is usually in conversation to show each two characters talking. This is also an over the shoulder shot.
